NEWS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 15, 2020

Rhodes Wellness College and Vancouver School of Healing Arts (VSOHA) are now Sister Schools.

The owners of Rhodes Wellness College (Rhodes) have acquired Vancouver School of Healing Arts (VSOHA). VSOHA has been providing Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), Yoga Therapy, and Bodywork Therapy. VOSHA is a Category 1 Designate Institution, registered with the Private Training Division (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education in B.C. Ben Colling, President of Rhodes Wellness College, stated “We are ecstatic to welcome to our school environment a school with the stature and reputation of VSOHA. Its values align perfectly with that of Rhodes and there will be many opportunities for students, faculty, and alumni to collaborate together.” VSOHA focuses on emotional and spiritual development accompanied with physical movement (in its yoga teacher training), physical treatment (in its bodywork therapy training) and a combination of both (in its yoga therapy training) for its students.

Rhodes Wellness College has been in operations now for close to 25 years and is one of the most respected counselling colleges in the country. Rhodes students who complete the Professional Counselling Diploma can become Registered Professional Counsellors (RPC’s) through the Canadian Professional Counselling Association. Life Coaching students are eligible to become International Coaching Federation (ICF). Rhodes has also just released a first-of-its kind nutrition counselling program where graduates will combine the skills of a holistic nutritionist, life coach, and counsellor to become Registered Health and Nutrition Counsellors (RHNC’s) with the Health Coach Alliance.

Rhodes Wellness College has been featured in numerous publications, including the Vancouver Sun, The Province, Shared Vision and Balanced Life Magazine, Huffington Post, Business in Vancouver, Consumer Health Digest, Moods Magazine, and Elevate Magazine.

We have been interviewed for TV on the CBC Morning show, and for radio on CKNW, The Beat, Fairchild Radio, and Jack FM.

History

Rhodes Wellness College opened in 1996. The first program offered was the popular Life Skills Coach Certificate program, followed by the Life Skills Counsellor Certificate program. The college launched its first diploma program in 1999, with the Life Skills Instructor Diploma program (now called the Life Coach Diploma program).

In response to the growing needs of employers and government agencies concerned with creating healthy workplaces and individuals, and to address the growing need for qualified and recognized education in this area, the Wellness Counsellor Diploma program was developed in 2001.

Rhodes Wellness College has introduced an advanced Professional Counsellor Diploma Program. This program combines a complete education in wellness, coaching, and counselling with enhanced professional skill development and support for professional accreditation. Graduates of this program also receive assistance in working towards their Registered Professional Counsellor designation.

The Life Skills Coach Certificate course has received ACSTH accreditation from the International Coach Federation, creating a pathway for graduates to obtain professional accreditation in the coaching field.

Our Addictions Counsellor Diploma provides training for those individuals wishing to specialize in addictions counselling. Part time and online studies are now available.
