We recognize that each member of our team plays an important role in establishing the Covenant relationship and implementing its principles with the youth whom we serve. These same principles create a positive and productive working environment as they apply to our interactions with our colleagues and serve as a guide for our operating function.
Job Function
Responsible for creating and implementing Covenant House Vancouver’s overall strategy for the annual solicitation & stewardship of assigned major donors to meet financial goals set-out in the annual Service Plan. (In any given year this may include operating, capital and/or endowment targets).

Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of annual solicitation strategies for assigned major donors that will meet annual goals as set out in the annual Service Plan
Support the Executive Director in the stewardship and reporting needs of government, special project and other specially designated donors
Identification of top 100 to 150 “key” assigned major donors each year
Identify 30-50 “key” prospect major donors ($5,000 and above annually)
Create tailored asks (including grant proposals) for key major donors /prospects based on giving history, preference and information gathered through research and personal meetings
Meet with program staff and review current program reports and statistics to identify potential opportunities for giving
Use this information to create opportunities for major giving that are engaging, accurate and transparent
Stewardship of these key donors through the natural giving cycle by creating relationships and engaging them in Covenant House Vancouver’s mandate
Recruit and manage volunteers, board members and community leaders to act as solicitors in a “best fit” strategy
Oversees the solicitation of all assigned major donors to maximize potential returns
Create inventive recognition packages that honour the value of each donation, but that do not divert much needed funds from program
Where appropriate create tailored asks for donations to support CHV Endowment funds
Forges relationships with donors and sows the seeds for annual donors to perpetuate their giving through planned gifts
Other duties as required

Qualifications:
College/university degree
A provincial or other vocational or professional certificate/degree is preferred
Excellent organisational and communications skills
Excellent writing and proposal preparation
Excellent relationship building skills with donors
3 years major gifts

Other Information:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Full benefits package, including sick and personal leave
Compensation commensurate with experience
