Rhodes Alumni Counsellor & Life Coach Directory

We are honoured to bring you a list of our graduates who have chosen to list their services on our Alumni Directory. All of our graduates have received significant training to help them become professional coaches and counsellors. Directory listing does not guarantee their ability to help every individual and Rhodes Wellness College does not guarantee the work of every graduate. We always urge potential clients to find the best counsellors and coaches that work for their unique situations.

Biography

I  am a mental health provider that practices wellness and holistic counselling. I have been trained in several different modalities and always approach each client individually. I practice client centred counselling through a biopsychosocial model. I am culturally competent and sensitive to each clients cultural background and independent needs. I believe that each client has their own answers within them but at times they need guidance and direction to connect with those answers. I facilitate counselling sessions through a strength-based approach so that each individual is able to see the gifts that they bring with them. I come from a blended family and have lived in a First Nations community for 20 years which means I am able to connect and understand the cultural teachings and medicines that can assist in a person’s healing journey. I am a Registered Professional Counsellor with the CPCA and have been practicing counselling since 2018. I have been in private practice since 2020.

Areas of Specialization: I offer both Telehealth and in person sessions, we determine which is the best fit based on a persons circumstances. I reside in a First Nations community in Ontario Canada near the Manitoba boarder. I lived here off and on for the last 20 years. I work in a remote location in the forest out of a canvas tent with a wood-stove during the winter months and in the summer a screened gazebo. I facilitate counselling and coaching through a land based perspective for all in person sessions where I invite nature and its creatures to attend our session. In our sessions we may use several different modalities that can include gestalt, somatic, narrative, talk, therapeutic arts, CBT, or DBT. Each person that comes for a session is considered an individual who will assist me with collaborating their individualized counselling plan through a strength based approach. Many of the people who come to me have complex trauma, addictions, grief and loss, or are from the LGBTQ+ community. I work with individuals 12 years and older. Typically my sessions are 1.5 to 2 hours long and can be provided through Telehealth or in some circumstances in person if they have access to the community I reside in. I may be able to assist clients find funding for sessions if they belong to a First Nations community. I am an approved provider for the NIHB, IRS RHSP, MNO and VQRP programs in Ontario.
