Michael Desrochers

Michael is the founder and CEO of painPRO Clinics, a company with 6 lower mainland clinic locations. painPRO supports over 100 independent healthcare professionals, with over half being RMT's, in a multidisciplinary setting focused on collaborative care between health professionals. His current focus is on the biopsychosocial aspects of therapeutic interventions and works to integrate NeuroEsthetics as a working model for the company. Neuroaesthetics (or neuroesthetics) is an interdisciplinary field merging neuroscience, cognitive science, and art. It investigates how our brains perceive, process, and respond to beauty and art, using scientific methods to understand our neurological and emotional reactions to visual art, music, nature, and design. Having worked as an RMT for over 20 years, Michael now spends the majority of his time giving back to the RMT profession and the local communities the company serves.He also actively volunteers with various charitable organizations such as ElderDog, Arts Umbrella, and The Children's Wish Foundation. When not busy with Paying It Forward he can be found hiking in the mountains with his 3 dogs.
Jenn Sharman, RMT

Jenn Sharman is a Registered Massage Therapist and clinic owner with an interest in trauma-informed care, the therapeutic relationship and the science of manual therapy. She is the founder of Intent Health Clinic, where she helps patients manage pain and stress and mentors new graduates as they enter the profession.
In addition to her clinical work, Jenn facilitates and participates in professional discussions and continuing education opportunities that support evidence-based, trauma-informed, patient-centred care. She has a background in International Development Studies which informs her understanding of the social, cultural, and systemic factors that influence health and wellbeing. Jenn brings to the Professional Advisory Committee a perspective grounded in clinical practice, lifelong learning, and a passion for bridging research, education, and patient care.
With great respect and gratitude, Jenn practices massage therapy on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples –Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) And Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.--
Keenan Hollingsworth, RMT, Physiotherapist

Keenan Hollingsworth is a Physiotherapist currently practicing in New Brunswick in a multidisciplinary clinic working with a broad patient population, treating athletes, complex persistent pain patients, geriatric patients, and all sorts of other different musculoskeletal & neurological conditions. Keenan also works in an acute care setting at the Saint John Regional Hospital, working with patients in the ICU, cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedic and general surgery units, and all other areas of the hospital. Keenan’s career began in Ontario as a strength & conditioning coach and personal trainer. In this role he became interested in injury management, so went back to school to become a Registered Massage Therapist. In his role as an RMT his curiosity was continually fostered, and his desire to learn more and broaden his scope lead him to return to school yet again to first get a BSc in Human Sciences, and then a Masters of Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta. Throughout this time he also taught and participated in curriculum development for Massage Therapy colleges. Keenan’s varied experiences in related but distinct professions, along with his experience working as an RMT & instructor in both regulated and unregulated provinces has given him some unique insights into the Massage Therapy profession both as a standalone entity, and how it can relate to the broader orthopaedic rehabilitation field.
Emma Purdon, RMT
Emma is passionate about working with the human body and using massage therapy as a tool to deepen body awareness and facilitate healing. With over a decade of experience in the field, she continuously finds inspiration in her work and is committed to expanding her knowledge. Her area of focus has been in pain science, movement education, nervous system regulation and trauma. Emma believes in the power of massage therapy to aid in alleviating pain, improving posture and function, regulating the nervous system, and fostering a felt sense of safety and ease. In her treatments, she blends her anatomical knowledge with intuitive touch, incorporating various techniques with an emphasis on deep, focused work in conjunction with relaxation and guided breath and body awareness. Her goal is to meet you where you are and find the approach that works best for you.
Emma strives to educate and empower her clients to take an active role in their healing journey. Her additional training in Pilates and Yoga informs her approach to movement education and helps her develop accessible home care routines for her clients.
Dr Richard McIlmoyle, BSc, DC, PgCPain
Dr. Richard McIlmoyle is a chiropractor with Achieve Health and a background in biochemistry (McMaster University, 1994). He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College in 1999, graduating cum laude, and has completed a Certificate in Pain Management from the University of Alberta, furthering his focus on helping patients manage and recover from chronic pain. He integrates current research in pain science and biomechanics into his treatment approach, using a range of manual therapies to support recovery and function for people of all ages and activity levels. His clinical work places a strong emphasis on persistent pain, guided by a biopsychosocial framework aimed at improving movement, reducing suffering, and restoring quality of life.
Kerri Blackburn, (BKIN), Kinesiologist, RMT
Kerri graduated from UBC with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences (2014), continuing on to complete the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy RMT Program (2016). Since then, Kerri has enjoyed a mentorship role both in the classroom and clinical settings, teaching at various colleges throughout the lower mainland since 2018. Kerri established her clinic, Mad Bodies, to provide a unique focus on evidence-based assessments and active-based treatments while providing patients with the education to empower them with the knowledge to continue rehabilitation outside the clinical setting. Outside of the clinic, Kerri enjoys spending time in the mountains (hiking, camping or exploring) and riding her road bike in the good weather.
